Meet Davide Luchetta of Argenta Greenhouses

Davide Luchetta, owner of Argenta Greenhouse Co., has always had a green thumb. Even as a young boy growing up in the concrete jungle of inner-city Connecticut, he dreamed of a life closer to nature, a life where he could “live in the woods and grow my own food.”

That dream eventually took root in the Green Mountains of Vermont, where a young Davide, now a skilled carpenter, built his own home and embraced organic farming. Love then led him to Canada, where he and his wife, Ellise, settled on a beautiful old Quaker homestead in Argenta, BC, with their son, Michah.

There, amidst the stunning Kootenay landscape, Davide’s passion for gardening blossomed. He and Ellise began growing garlic and basil, but Davide yearned for a greenhouse that was both aesthetically pleasing and built to withstand the region’s heavy snowfall.

Enlisting the help of local master carpenters, Davide designed a greenhouse using locally-sourced cedar, a structure that was as beautiful as it was durable. This marked the beginning of Argenta Greenhouse Co.

Fast forward 13 years, and Argenta has become a leader in sustainable, custom greenhouse production in British Columbia. Their stunning gothic arch greenhouses, renowned for their craftsmanship and architectural beauty, grace gardens across North America.
